Privacy Policy

Oh Ventures LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company ("Oh Ventures," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at ohventures.co (the "Site") and provides embedded CFO, capital strategy, financial infrastructure, and operating services (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, including how we handle meeting recordings and content and newsletter subscriptions.

By using the Site, booking a meeting with us, or interacting with us in connection with the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

Booking information. When you book a meeting through our scheduling link (provided by Google Calendar appointment scheduling), we receive the information you submit, such as your name, email address, and any notes you include about your company or goals.
Correspondence. When you email us at contact@ohventures.co or communicate with us through other channels, we receive the contents of that communication and your contact details.
Newsletter subscriptions. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we receive your email address and, if you choose to give it, your first name. Section 3 explains how we handle it.
Engagement information. If you become a client, we collect the business and financial information necessary to deliver the Services. That information is governed primarily by your engagement agreement and any confidentiality agreement, which control over this Policy where they conflict.

Information collected automatically

Site analytics. Oh Ventures measures visits with its own cookie-free analytics. We record the pages viewed, time spent on a page, the referring page (without its query string), campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), device type (desktop, tablet, or mobile), and country. We also record clicks on links that lead off our Site, including the address of the link (such as an email link), and newsletter sign-up events. A random session identifier is kept in your browser's session storage for the length of the visit only and is deleted when the tab closes; we do not use cookies. To count visitors, each visit is given a code that is calculated from your browser details and changes every day, so it cannot be traced back to a person or followed from one day to the next, except for visits that arrive from a link in our newsletter (see Section 3). Your IP address is used only to calculate that code at the moment of the visit and is never stored. Browsers that send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal are not counted. This data is kept for 13 months.
Plausible. We also use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. We see aggregated data only, such as page views, referral sources, and approximate location at the country/region level.
Hosting logs. Our Site is hosted on Netlify, which may process standard server log data, such as IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver the Site.
Fonts. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request (including your IP address) to Google's servers when a page loads.
Free tools. The calculators and models on our Site run entirely in your browser. Numbers you enter into them are not transmitted to us or stored by us.

Meetings and communications

Recordings and transcripts. As described in Section 2 below, meetings and calls with us may be recorded and transcribed, including through AI-powered notetaking and transcription tools.

2. Meeting Recordings & Content

Recording notice

Meetings, calls, and other interactions with Oh Ventures may be recorded. This includes video calls, audio calls, screen shares, workshops, and in-person sessions, and includes transcription and AI-generated notes.

Recordings may be used both for our internal purposes (service delivery, notes, record-keeping) and to create published content, such as articles, social media posts, videos, podcasts, and case studies.

What we record and why

We record for two purposes:

Operating the business. Recordings and transcripts help us take accurate notes, follow through on commitments, and deliver the Services.
Creating content. Oh Ventures produces educational and marketing content drawn from real conversations and real work. Recordings, or excerpts of them, may be edited and published on our Site, social media, and other channels, and may include your name, voice, likeness, and the contents of the conversation.

What we will not publish

Regardless of any consent, we will not knowingly publish:

Sensitive personal information, such as government identifiers, financial account details, health information, or other information a reasonable person would consider private;
Information covered by a non-disclosure or confidentiality agreement. If we have signed an NDA or confidentiality agreement with you or your company, that agreement controls over this Policy and over our Terms of Service, and covered information will not appear in published content;
Confidential business information, such as non-public financials, cap tables, investor terms, or strategy shared in confidence, unless you have expressly approved its inclusion.

Your choices about recording

Decline recording. You may tell us at any time, ideally before or at the start of a meeting, that you do not want to be recorded, and we will not record, or will stop and delete the applicable portion.
Decline publication. You may consent to recording for note-taking purposes while declining use in published content. Just tell us, or email contact@ohventures.co.
Request removal. If content featuring you has been published and you want it removed, email us and we will make commercially reasonable efforts to remove it from the channels we control. Content already downloaded, shared, or re-hosted by third parties may be beyond our control.

If you subscribe to the Oh Ventures newsletter, this section applies in addition to the rest of this Policy.

What we collect. Your email address, your first name if you give it, the date and time you signed up and confirmed, and limited technical information used to protect the signup form from abuse, such as your IP address.
Confirmation first. You are not subscribed until you confirm, by pressing the button on the page linked in our confirmation email. If you never confirm, you will not receive the newsletter.
How we use it. Only to send you the newsletter and occasional related notes from Oh Ventures, such as a new essay or free tool. We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Delivery and measurement. Subscriber records are stored in the database behind our internal operating platform, and issues are sent through an email delivery provider. Each issue counts opens and link clicks, and we record them against your subscriber record. When you visit the Site from a link in an issue, that visit is connected to your subscription, so we can see which issues were opened, which links were clicked, and how long that visit lasted. We use this only to understand what readers find useful and to improve the newsletter. It is not shared with anyone for their own purposes, and we do not sell it. Our email delivery provider may also record whether an issue was delivered or opened.
Unsubscribing. Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email contact@ohventures.co. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list only so that we do not email you again. If you would rather we delete it entirely, ask and we will.
Legal basis. For readers in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process newsletter data on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
What you read. Newsletter content is general information, not advice. Our Terms of Service explain the limits on how it can be relied on.

4. How We Use Information

To respond to inquiries, schedule and conduct meetings, and deliver the Services;
To maintain records of conversations and commitments;
To create and publish content as described in Section 2;
To send the newsletter to people who subscribed and confirmed, as described in Section 3;
To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including measuring which pages and articles are read;
To learn which newsletter issues and links are useful, as described in Section 3;
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We share information only with:

Service providers that support our operations, such as Google (scheduling, calendar, email, fonts), Netlify (hosting), Plausible (analytics), Supabase (the database behind our operating platform, including newsletter subscriber records), our email delivery provider, and recording, transcription, and AI notetaking tools, each of which processes information to provide its service to us;
Contractors and collaborators who help produce content or deliver the Services, under confidentiality obligations;
Legal and safety recipients, where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or property;
A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to previously collected information.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes above: newsletter delivery and engagement records (sends, opens, and clicks) for 13 months, after which they are deleted; after you unsubscribe we stop sending and keep only what is needed to honor the unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your data at contact@ohventures.co; correspondence and booking information for as long as our relationship (and a reasonable period after) requires; recordings and transcripts for as long as they serve service delivery, record-keeping, or published content; and engagement records as required by law or our agreements; and site analytics events for 13 months. You may request deletion as described below.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@ohventures.co. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and as required by applicable law. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

8. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information, including reputable providers, access controls, and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Site and Services are directed to businesses and are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Visitors

Oh Ventures operates from the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Site or interact with us from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Site or Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
